This is, indeed, my final asymetrical design for the first project. In order to make it an asymetrical design, I avoided putting the focal point, Oil, in the center. I met the requirement of scale and made each word smaller than the last, in the order of Oil, Resource, Necessity, Shortage, and War. The unity in my design is from the words because oil is a neccesary resource which can lead to war if there's ever a shortage of it. The color in my design, what little color there is, fades from white to black within the words as the timeline progresses. I used repetition by using the same font for all five words so the viewer can focus on the way the words are arranged, rather than the types of font each word uses, which wouldn't serve much of a purpose with this design. My design addresses the communication objective, sustainability, because a shortage of oil causing a war is very possible. Oil can't last forever, so, unless we can find a way to replace it, there is a very real probability that it will eventually lead to conflict. In many World War III stories the war is started from an oil shortage in some way, shape, or form. Tom Clancy's novel Red Storm Rising is a very good example of this. For class participation, I was in class on time every day, and I worked on this project whenever I was given time in class.

First round asymetrical thumbnails
These are my first round asymetrical thumbnails for my first project in ART-125. The five words I chose are oil, resource, necessity, shortage, and war. Oil is a resource. It is a necessary resource. Therefore it is a high probability that a shortage of this necessary resource, whether it's a shortage worldwide or in one country, will lead to war.
